No book review can be completely objective, however, at Book Minded I strive to evaluate books on the effectiveness of the writing, not just whether I like the story or not. Sometimes, the very fact that you hate the character means the author did exactly what they were supposed to do. As a writer myself, I also know what it is to pour your heart and soul into a story and don't feel it is my place to tear anyone's effort apart. As a result, if I don't feel I can give a book a positive review, I won't post anything about it. I am not a fan of trashing an author’s work and leave that to the reviewers who have no problem doing that.
